OK, did the full set again but this time I warmed up (with a double set of planks) and had zero break between intervals. I guess there is the amount of time it takes to change sledgehammers, but it’s effectively nil. My HRM says I averaged 138 bpm with a high of 158. Much better. I have to just be serious about the exercise. Julie is suggesting building a different routine to load in some muscle confusion, so I’m looking into that, too.
