Yesterday in Food: Vegas 5/12-5/15

I was in Las Vegas for the last few days and I didn’t record food. I also didn’t really regulate my intake, so I’ll just write up what I ate, what I liked about it. There was a lot to like.

Thursday night: Garduno’s @ the Palms
Chile relleno + Carne adovada + margarita
This was tasty, though maybe not worth it. Overpriced, medium quality, overcooked? Yep. It’s Las Vegas. Still, it wasn’t buffet. Maybe 3 veggies, here. Lots of carbs.

Friday morning: Coffee and Tea Leaf
Greek Salad. Random. Fairly primal, though very small. I’d say 2 veggies here.

Lunch: Buffet at the Palms
I tried to stick to mostly veggies, so I probably had 4 more then rocked a good amount of turkey and beef. Not the most primal since I suppose the ingredients were not ideal and some of the sauces were kinda sweet.

Dinner: Sushi Roku at Caesars
Possibly the healthiest meal: mostly sashimi, just a couple pieces with rice, edamame.

Saturday morning: Bouchon @ Venetian
Holy cripes. This might have been the nicest meal. I got the Chicken & Waffles from the brunch menu and the savory + sweet was excellent. Not to mention the coffee was bottomless and I had 5+ cups. Waffles were light and fluffy and made with bacon and chives and a side of maple syrup. The chicken was roasted and came with a side of gravy. Mixing all four of those was much better than I could have expected.

Saturday evening: roundabout
cocktails at MGM Grand “Nob Hill Tavern” which ended up being a bit pricey for dinner, plus they wouldn’t seat us anywhere but the bar despite there appearing to be space.
Tried to get into 9 Fine Irishmen at New York, New York but it was full of a wedding party
Ended up going to Broadway Burger Bar and Grill
WHAT A COUP. Saturday became the super tasty day. Despite being last minute random choice, it became a great meal. Burgers done just right with reasonably priced beers (all beers were <$6 including Rogue's Dead Guy Ale) and our server was maybe one of the more friendly ones of the trip.
